The Saltee Islands are two privately owned islands about 5km off the coast of Kilmore Quay, Co Wexford. It is possible to visit the Great Saltee Island,  although it’s a “wet landing”, and a trip for the moderately fit!

The Great Saltee is a haven for birds, very scenic, and a special trip for bird watchers from around the world. There are a number of engraved monuments on the Island which tell something of the Story of Prince Michael, the owner, and see if you can find the throne! This is a great day trip to include in your self catering holiday at Kilmore Cottage.
