Seaview Beach and
Ballyhealy
Beach, Kilmore
Kilmore Cottage is just
over a mile from "Seaview" beach, pictured here on the left, and
is also about the same distance from Ballyhealy beach. You can
walk on the beach west to Kilmore Quay or east to Carnsore
Point, tides permitting. En route to Carnsore you pass the
picturesque lakes at Tacumshin and Lady's Island, both famous
bird watching centres, and the latter a place of pilgrimage.

Guillemot Maritime Museum, Kilmore Quay |
Olinda Beach, Marina and Ballyteigue Burrow, Kilmore Quay
Olinda is a little beach
beside the Marina at Kilmore Quay. You can browse the shops
in Kilmore Quay, eat at the restaurants or take-aways, use
the facilities at the Community Centre, (internet access,
showers, toilets, cafe, hairdresser). From here you can also
explore the working fishing harbour, walk to the shore-side
memorial garden, or explore the special conservation area at
Ballyteigue burrow. Ballyteigue is important for its flora
and fauna and can offer either a refreshing walk along the
pathway or a more challenging trek across the hills of the
sand dunes, all beside the sea. The Guillemot museum (left) is open in
tourist season. It was formerly a lightship. |

Other Wexford
Beaches
You will never run
out of beaches on holiday in Wexford! There are so many to choose from, that we
can't give a full list here. However, we give guests a map of the area
so that you can find the ones you want. A few are mentioned below to
give a flavour.

Large beach in sheltered cove. There is a car park on the
sand, (it's hard sand!), and this allows access for
wheelchairs and buggies. International Sand Sculpting
Festival here every August (date changes each year to suit
tides). |
